STEP 1: CHECK ELIGIBILITY
Verify your home address to confirm eligibility to attend Olentangy Schools.
You must reside within the Olentangy Local School District to attend. If you are unsure if you reside in the district's boundaries, please check the GIS Map Toolto verify.
STEP 2: Collect Required Documents
- Parent/Guardian Valid Photo ID
- Student(s) Certified Birth Certificate and/or Passport
- Proof of Residency – Only families residing in the Olentangy District can register for Olentangy Schools.
- Updated Immunization/Shot Records
Parent/Guardian Valid Photo ID
Driver’s license, state photo ID, passport, or government issued photo ID.Only the parent/guardian of the child may complete the registrationprocess.
Student(s) Certified Birth Certificate and/or Passport
- Student birth certificate required, but their passport can be usedif the student was born outside the US for student’s name verification.
- You can obtain a birth record from the city or county health department where the birth occurred.
- If your child was born in the state of Ohio, you can order their birth certificate from the Ohio Department of Health.
Proof of Residency – Only families residing in the Olentangy District can register for Olentangy Schools.
- Auditor’s website summary page, settlement statement, mortgage statement, home purchase contract, deed, property tax statement, valid signed lease/rental agreement.WE DO NOT ACCEPT BILLS.
- Persons living with another Olentangy homeowner/renter are asked to contact the New Student Welcome Centerfor details on providing proof of residency.WE DO NOT ACCEPT BILLS.
Updated Immunization/Shot Records
These will be required twoweeks after the first day of school, if not provided at registration.
If applicable, the following are also required for your registration:
- Custody documentation (If Applicable)
- Special Education/Special Services (If Applicable)
- Students coming from outside the U.S. (If Applicable)
- Tuberculosis TB test results or chest X-ray (If Applicable)
Custody documentation (If Applicable)
Judge-signed court stamped custody documents received in their entirety indicating custodial/residential/school placement parent/guardian.
Examples include:
- Shared Parenting Decree (signed by the judge) with Shared Parenting Plan (indicates school placement parent)
- Divorce Decree (indicating sole custody)
- Magistrate’s Orders
- Guardianship Documents
- Adoption Documents
- Or foster placement paperwork
Special Education/Special Services (If Applicable)
Current copy of IEP, ETR, MFE or 504 plan.
Students coming from outside the U.S. (If Applicable)
- Immunization records
- Academic records, if available
- High school transcripts for students enrolling in grades 9-12, if available
Tuberculosis TB test results or chest X-ray (If Applicable)
If the student was born outside of the US in a TB endemic region or visited a TB endemic region for 3 or more months. Please check the list of TB endemic countries under TB Test Requirements on the New Student Welcome Center site to see if your student needs a TB test.In addition to your family doctor, the following are local clinics you can call to confirm hours and fees for the TB test.

STEP 3: ENROLL
2024-25 school year: begin online registration
Documents can be uploaded to the Online Registration or emailed toNSWC@olsd.us.
Once registration is complete, check your email inbox for an Enrollment Confirmation Notice to confirm your child's enrollment with Olentangy Schools.
Kindergarten registration
If your child will be five years old on or before September 30, 2024, and you reside in Olentangy Schoolsattendance boundaries, you may register them for kindergarten starting in January. If your student currently attends or is being evaluated by the Olentangy Schools preschool program, you do not need to register for kindergarten. You will be asked by the preschool your intent for next school year. If your student will be attending Kindergarten in Olentangy schools, you will receive a link to sign up for the kindergarten screening via email. The screenings will take place end-May or June.
PRESCHOOL ENROLLMENT
Please note if you are attempting to enroll your student into preschool, you must first complete the preschool process through the preschool office. Please visit thePreschool Program pagefor more information on the preschool program and the preschool process before beginning your enrollment.
