Mr. Gutwein died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday at his residence. Born July 30, 1920, in Francesville, he was the son of Fred and Katie Munz Gutwein. On Aug.
25, 1962, he was married in Francesville to Mary B. Wucthrich, who survives. Mr. Gutwein was a farmer. He was a member of Apostolic Christian Church.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he had served during World War II. Also surviving are two daughters, Charlotte Gutwein, Indianapolis, and Carolyn Leman, Beaver Creek, Ohio; three sons, Loren, Scotts Bluff, Frank, Peoria, and Stanley, West Lafayette; six sisters, Dorothy Beer, La Belle, and Louis Heinold, Fern Leman, Esther Gray, Marcella Gudeman, and Suzanne Cook, all of Francesville; two brothers, Harvey, Monticello, and Francesville; and five grandchildren. One brother preceded in death. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery.

Turner, 79, of 5235 U.S. 31 South, Peru, died at 4:08 Sunday in Dukes Memorial Hospital. Born April 18, 1915, in Peru, she was the daughter of Jacob and Margaret Radel Spitznagle. On June 30, 1961, she was married to Harold "Doc" Turnter, who died Aug. 23, 1986.
Mrs. Turner retired from Sengers Dry Goods Company. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, the Elkettes and Ladies of the Moose. Surviving are one brother, Victor Spitznagle, Peru; and two sisters, Margaret "Marge" Harrison, Kokomo, and Rosanna Redmon, Peru.
Services will be held at 10. a.m. Wednesday in St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery, Kokomo.

6, 1940, she was married to Rudolph C. Keene, who died in 1978. Mrs. Keene was a homemaker and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary No. 5000 of Cusseta, Ga.
Surviving are one daughter, C.B. Smart, Diamond Springs, one son, R.C. Dacono, one sister, Virginia Stroup, Kempton; one brother, Earl F. Creasy, Cutler; and one grandchild. One brother and one sister preceded in death.

Mrs. Lawrence retired from Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Indianapolis. Surviving are one sister-in-law, Jane Farrell, Logansport; one nephew; and one great-nephew. Two brothers preceded in death.

Born Jan. 27, 1902, in Washington Township in Carroll County, he was the son of Leonidas P. and Mary E. Zeck Shanks. He was married to Laura J.
Jones, who died Aug. 18, 1974. His second marriage in 1980 was to Meredith Jeanne Zech, who survives. Mr. Shanks was a math teacher in.
the Logansport School Corporation, retiring in 1957. He had taught at Riley Junior High School and Logansport High School. He attended Ball State Teachers College. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lodge in Camden, and Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Born July 19, 1934, in Monon, he was the son of John E. and Daisey M. Watson Danford. On July 25, 1954, he was married to Thelma M. Davis, who preceded in death.
On June 30, 1962, he was married to Barbara D. Clear, who survives. A lifelong resident of Monticello, Mr. Danford had worked for McGill Manufacturing Company for 15 years. He also had worked for the former Alkire-Luse Oldsmobile dealership 18 years and operated Larry and Terry's Garage for two years.
He attended Grace Community Baptist Church. Mr. Danford had raced stock cars, using number 88, for more than 30 years. Also surviving are four sons, Jerry John E. and Jason all of Monticello, and Terry Indianapolis; one daughter, Leesa D.
Crawn, Monticello; three brothers, J.D., Stanford, Norman, Francesville, and Robert, Wolcott; two sisters, Evelyn Clemens, Buffalo, and Angie Day, Wolcott; one sister, Gwen Bennett, California; and seven grandchildren.
