Mr. Gutwein died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday at his residence. Born July 30, 1920, in Francesville, he was the son of Fred and Katie Munz Gutwein. On Aug.

25, 1962, he was married in Francesville to Mary B. Wucthrich, who survives. Mr. Gutwein was a farmer. He was a member of Apostolic Christian Church.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he had served during World War II. Also surviving are two daughters, Charlotte Gutwein, Indianapolis, and Carolyn Leman, Beaver Creek, Ohio; three sons, Loren, Scotts Bluff, Frank, Peoria, and Stanley, West Lafayette; six sisters, Dorothy Beer, La Belle, and Louis Heinold, Fern Leman, Esther Gray, Marcella Gudeman, and Suzanne Cook, all of Francesville; two brothers, Harvey, Monticello, and Francesville; and five grandchildren. One brother preceded in death. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery.

Turner, 79, of 5235 U.S. 31 South, Peru, died at 4:08 Sunday in Dukes Memorial Hospital. Born April 18, 1915, in Peru, she was the daughter of Jacob and Margaret Radel Spitznagle. On June 30, 1961, she was married to Harold "Doc" Turnter, who died Aug. 23, 1986.

Mrs. Turner retired from Sengers Dry Goods Company. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, the Elkettes and Ladies of the Moose. Surviving are one brother, Victor Spitznagle, Peru; and two sisters, Margaret "Marge" Harrison, Kokomo, and Rosanna Redmon, Peru.

Services will be held at 10. a.m. Wednesday in St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery, Kokomo.

2, 1994 Myrtle Belle Keene FLORA Myrtle Belle Keene, 69, Rt. 1, Cutler, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday in her residence. Born April 25, 1925, in Gallatin, she was the daughter of Edward and Attie L. Robertson Creasy, On Jan.

6, 1940, she was married to Rudolph C. Keene, who died in 1978. Mrs. Keene was a homemaker and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary No. 5000 of Cusseta, Ga.

Surviving are one daughter, C.B. Smart, Diamond Springs, one son, R.C. Dacono, one sister, Virginia Stroup, Kempton; one brother, Earl F. Creasy, Cutler; and one grandchild. One brother and one sister preceded in death.

2, 1994 Ellis Staller PERU Services for Ellis Staller, 93, Mexico, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Mr. Staller died at 1:33 p.m. Saturday in Life Care Center, Fort Wayne.

Born Sept. 23, 1901, in Cass County, he was the son of George W. and Rebecca Yoder Staller. On Sept. 26, 1926, he was married to Mabel Fincher, who died Dec.

28, 1991. Mr. Staller retired from the Railroad. He was a member of Mexico United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Donald, Rt.

3, 1994 Ellen Lou Lawrence Ellen Lou Lawrence, 79, of 706 Noble Indianapolis, died at 8 a.m. Sunday in Chase Center. Born Nov. 1, 1914, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Patrick and Grace Minneman Farrell. She was married to James Lawrence, who died in 1967.

Mrs. Lawrence retired from Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Indianapolis. Surviving are one sister-in-law, Jane Farrell, Logansport; one nephew; and one great-nephew. Two brothers preceded in death.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kroger Funeral Home, with Father Donald Gross officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services Tuesday in the funeral home. OCT.

2, 1994 Doris Kay Wilkins WINCHESTER Services for Doris Kay Wilkins, 51, of 453 E. South will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Converse Church of Christ. Mrs. Wilkins died at 5:21 p.m.

Saturday in Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. Born July 9, 1943, in Swayzee, she was the daughter of George W. and Harriett Gates Smith. On Nov. 1, 1962, she was married to Stanley B.

Wilkins, who survives. Wilkins was a homemaker and a member of Converse Church of Christ. She was a 1961 graduate of Swayzee High School. Aiso surviving are her mother, Swayzee; one son; Charles- chester; three daughters, Stacey L. Jordan, Safety Harbor, Susan Wilkins, Portland, and Karen J.

Michael E. Boonstra, 1303 North reported that someone shattered a window of his van while it was parked Oris Russell Shanks Private services will be conducted for Oris Russell Shanks, 92, of 1529 Pleasant Hill. Mr. Shanks died at 9:52 p.m. Sunday in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 27, 1902, in Washington Township in Carroll County, he was the son of Leonidas P. and Mary E. Zeck Shanks. He was married to Laura J.

Jones, who died Aug. 18, 1974. His second marriage in 1980 was to Meredith Jeanne Zech, who survives. Mr. Shanks was a math teacher in.

the Logansport School Corporation, retiring in 1957. He had taught at Riley Junior High School and Logansport High School. He attended Ball State Teachers College. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lodge in Camden, and Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Two brothers and four sisters preceded in death. Burial will be private. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in Kroger Funeral Home.

1, Monticello, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Mr. Danford died at 12:34 p.m. Saturday in White County Memorial Hospital of injuries sustained in a farming accident at County Road 1000N and 800E, Liberty Township, White County.

Born July 19, 1934, in Monon, he was the son of John E. and Daisey M. Watson Danford. On July 25, 1954, he was married to Thelma M. Davis, who preceded in death.

On June 30, 1962, he was married to Barbara D. Clear, who survives. A lifelong resident of Monticello, Mr. Danford had worked for McGill Manufacturing Company for 15 years. He also had worked for the former Alkire-Luse Oldsmobile dealership 18 years and operated Larry and Terry's Garage for two years.

He attended Grace Community Baptist Church. Mr. Danford had raced stock cars, using number 88, for more than 30 years. Also surviving are four sons, Jerry John E. and Jason all of Monticello, and Terry Indianapolis; one daughter, Leesa D.

Crawn, Monticello; three brothers, J.D., Stanford, Norman, Francesville, and Robert, Wolcott; two sisters, Evelyn Clemens, Buffalo, and Angie Day, Wolcott; one sister, Gwen Bennett, California; and seven grandchildren. One sister preceded in death. Officiating at the services will be Pastors Terry W. Danford and Gary Roberts. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.

Criminal mischief. Andrew Hunt, 2011 High reported that someone shot a BB at the left rear door of his car and smeared eggs over the top and side of the vehicle. Car windows were also reported broken at 2007, 1810 and 1728 High St. LPD. 12:36 p.m.

Vandalism to vehicle. Nancee K. Ellison, 1627 North reported that someone broke a window in her car. LPD. 1:10 p.m.

Theft. William Strantz, 339 Wheatland reported that someone took his vehicle license plate while the car was parked at Logansport Mall. LPD. 1:29 p.m. Burglary.

Thomas M. Koerner, 922 E. Broadway, Apt. 4, reported that someone broke into Apartment 5. The apartment was not ransacked and it is unknown if any-: thing is missing.

LPD. 2 p.m. Recovery of stolen property. Police located a scooter belonging to Daniel Hellyer, 1415 E. Broadway.

The vehicle is valued at $1,500. LPD. 2:25 p.m. Property-damage accident, Ind. 25 South and S.

Cicott Street. Vehicles driven by Thomas R. Young, 43, 404 Burlington and Terry L. Pippenger, 36, Mulberry, collided. LPD.

5:35 p.m. Arrest. Andrew G. Hartoin, 38, Rt. 2, Logansport, was arrested on an in-county warrant.
