Get the Fall Look With 10 Gorgeous MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combos (2024)

A couple of days ago, I told you about some of the best MAC lip combos with Auburn, an incredible brownish red lip liner, and made the comparison with the stunning Chicory and Mahogany lip liner shades.

Since the latter is one of my favorite MAC lip liners, we’re going to talk about all the super cool MAC Mahogany lip liner and lipstick combinations today.

MAC Mahogany Lip Liner: 10 Best MAC Lipstick Combinations

The MAC Mahogany lip liner offers a rich brown color with strong red undertones.

Anyone with skin with warm undertones will be able to sport it effortlessly, with tan, medium and dark skin wearing it the best on the daily.

The Mahogany lip liner is very longlasting and works well on fair olive skin too (think Arab skin), which makes it one of my go-to’s when I want to create ombre lips with some brown lipstick like Mocha, Hug Me or Spirit.

Now that this is said, while there are lots of MAC Mahogany lip liner dupes, I’d still recommend getting the real deal.

You will find lots of MAC lipstick dupes from Makeup Revolution, Golden Rose, and even Colourpop has some incredible MAC dupes.

However, when it comes to the lip liners, I do think the MAC version is longlasting, provides great pigmentation and the colors are often some kind of undetermined, muted color that suits every skin tone.

Once you’ve splurged on one, you don’t finish (it’s like tattoos), so let’s see which are some of the best MAC Mahogany lip liner and lipstick combos!

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Mocha

First up, we have the beautiful MAC Mocha lipstick, part of the satin lipstick range and beautiful with its peachy nude brown color.

The satin lipsticks offer great pigmentation and long wear, and still provide a little bit of hydration during the day.

They also tend to get more matte during the day, which is, I guess, another thing that makes them so longlasting.

Apply the MAC Mahogany lip liner in a thin line around your lips, fill in with the Mocha lipstick, apply a bit more of the lip pencil and blend – you’re good to go.

On the eyes, some burnt orange eyeshadow would look really great, as well as some type of warm toned gold eyeshadow, or just some brown mascara if you want to go nude.

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Marrakesh

I told you about the MAC Marrakesh lipstick in a few guides already, and it’s one of my favorite picks for Asian skin tones.

I do think that on my fair olive skin, the Marrakesh lipstick is one of the most unusual and beautiful I’ve ever seen.

The true blue lip liner that matches Marrakesh is Auburn.

Yet, with Mahogany, which is darker and more brown where Marrakesh is more of an orange-toned brown lipstick, the combo looks really gorgeous.

If you have skin with cool undertones, I would probably not go there.

However, this is one of the magical MAC lipstick shades that suit just about all skin tones, so try it and, hopefully, fall in love!

On the eyes?

Metallic olive green eyeshadow or some plum purple eyeshadow for a deep fall kind of makeup look.

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Chili

In my guide to the Auburn lip liner combos, I told you about how you could wear the red Auburn with the brown Marrakesh (if you do it well!).

Well, now, wear the red Chili lipstick with the brown Mahogany lip liner.

The two colors are not exactly similar, but you can still make it work, especially if you really just want a bit of shading around your lips.

The Chili lipstick is currently one of the most popular red MAC lipsticks, and incredible on Indian skin, Asian skin and all types of skin with neutral and warm undertones.

Again, not a red lipstick I’d apply on olive skin, on which I’d much rather apply Russian Red or Viva Glam 1, more suited for this undertone.

On the eyes, some really warm-toned type of mustard yellow eyeshadow would really contrast the Chili and Mahogany combo.

But if you want to go simple, some black mascara and black eyeliner are more than enough – let the lips do the talking!

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Stay Curious

With the utterly gorgeous MAC Stay Curious lipstick, we have a very interesting when we combine it with the Mahogany lip liner.

I told you many times about the time I wore the MAC Chestnut lip liner with the Candy Yum Yum lipstick, and how despite the odds, it was one of the best looks I ever wore while working at MAC in Paris.

Stay Curious has a very red-toned pink lipstick color, and the fact that it’s part of the Powder Kiss range makes it very matte and very hydrating.

It’s a lipstick that fair skin to medium skin can also use as a blush and powder (or not) after application.

Apply the MAC Mahogany lip liner all around your lips in a thick line that almost touches the center of your lips, and apply Stay Curious all over for some kind of edgy ombre lip look.

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Smoked Almond

The Smoked Almond lipstick is part of the Amplified lipstick range, which provides great pigmentation and a creamy finish.

Since Smoked Almond is rather warm-toned (not too far off from the Mocha lipstick in my opinion), the combo with the Mahogany lip liner is just dreamy.

I feel like Mahogany really is that type of lip liner shade which belongs on medium and dark skin for an everyday nude look, but on fair skin, it’s a go-to if you love autumn lip colors.

Apply Mahogany all over your lips and Smoked Almond on top if you want to end up with a slightly darker and redder shade on your lips.

Or, apply a thick line of the Mahogany lip liner, and dab a bit of the Smoked Almond lipstick on top.

A soft brown blush on your cheeks on some reddish orange blush (one of the highlighting Extra Dimension blushes!) would work well – match the eyes and the blush!

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Brick-o-La

Using the MAC Brick-o-La lipstick in combination with the Mahogany lip liner makes for one of the most beautiful combos in this entire guide – trust.

Brick-o-La is one of the softest berry lipsticks from MAC, and has a beautiful creamy formula you just want to wear all year long.

Why?

Because, for starters, whether you have Asian skin, Indian skin or very pale skin, Brick-o-La is one of the most magical MAC lipsticks – it looks good on everyone.

Berry lipsticks tend to do that.

Wear the Mahogany lip liner in a thin line around your lips, coat with the Brick-o-La lipstick, and you’re good to go.

This is a combo that just feels incredible to wear and makes you feel good in your own skin, so…

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Spirit

The Spirit lipstick is one of the softest brown nude lipsticks that MAC offers, and is part of the incredible satin range.

With the Mahogany lip liner, I’d recommend you to apply Mahogany all over your lips and then coat with Spirit to make both colors mix.

The combo is really beautiful, but just remember that the Spirit lipstick is a tad cooler-toned than Mahogany, which is why you should really only apply a thin line of the lip liner and blend extra-well.

Do it nicely, and you have an incredible new nude lipstick combo!

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Honeylove

The MAC Honeylove lipstick is one of the lightest nude lipsticks from MAC, and is probably one of the most popular matte lipsticks from the brand.

With its slightly brown undertone, the Honeylove lipstick lends itself to most of the MAC lipsticks, and you could even make it work with the likes of the Nightmoth lip liner on any skin tone – it would look amazing.

The MAC Mahogany lip liner and Honeylove lipstick combination is, hence, an incredibly smart one to make on the daily.

Just be sure to blend the edges carefully unless you want to go for the 90s type of grunge ombre lip look!

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Paramount

The MAC Paramount lipstick is one of my absolute favorites – I do think that when it comes to brown lipsticks, MAC Cosmetics is one of the top brands.

Paramount has a very rich brown color with a reddish undertone, and matches perfectly with the Mahogany lip liner.

It calls for beautiful warm-toned eyeshadows – however, for some kind of crazy twist, metallic mauve eyeshadow or pastel blue eyeshadow would look banging with this combo!

Best MAC Mahogany Lip Liner & Lipstick Combinations: Devoted to Chili

The MAC Devoted to Chili lipstick is one of the newest Powder Kiss additions, and the color is very similar to the Chili and Mahogany lipsticks.

It’s that reddish brown lipstick that will suit skin with warm undertones, like Asian skin, absolutely gorgeously.

That’s also an amazing cream blush to wear if you want to match your cheeks to your lips, and this beautiful color calls for lots of fall eyeshadows, if you want my two cents.

With the Devoted to Chili and Mahogany lip liner combination, I’d probably apply some metallic eyeshadow in shades of copper and orange on my eyes.

If you have an olive skin tone or skin with cool undertones, bronzer will be of the party if you want to wear this rather warm-toned combo – don’t forget!

MAC Mahogany Lip Liner: 10 Best MAC Lipstick Combinations
